Post-installation tasks

After the installation was successful and all components are up and running, the following configurations have to be completed before the product is ready to use:

Step 1: Configure Network Policies

By default, all outgoing traffic is restricted. IBM Industry Solutions Workbench will work properly if you configure the Network Policies

Step 2: Product Configuration

After you completed the installation process you are ready to do the initial configuration of IBM Industry Solutions Workbench to get Solution Designer and Solution Hub up and running Configuring IBM Industry Solutions Workbench

Step 3: Create user accounts

While the installation procedure will create realms, clients and roles in Keycloak, it will not create any users. In order to be able to work with IBM Industry Solutions Workbench, please create at least one user account in Keycloak ( see configure users).

Step 4: Create and configure deployment targets for solutions

In order to be able to deploy solutions that are created in IBM Industry Solutions Workbench, please create one or more OpenShift projects that are used as deployment targets and instrument them by configuring k5 projects ( see creating new deployment targets).

Step 5: Configure one of the supported Git providers

The Solution Designer offers the flexibility to connect to one or more Git providers. Please configure the Solution Designer as described in setting up the Git repository.

Step 6: Create your first solution

Design and launch your first solution by following the instructions in setting up projects.
