Configuring Asset Catalogs

Asset Catalogs are containers that group multiple projects as assets so that they can be imported as starting points for other projects. To enable sharing of projects as an asset you have to set up at least one asset catalog within IBM Industry Solutions Workbench.

Adding an asset catalog

To add an asset catalog:

  • Navigate to the admin settings page by clicking the gear icon in the navigation bar ⚙
  • Click "Admin Settings".
  • Navigate to the "Asset Catalogs" tab.
  • Click on the (+ Add Catalog) button.

Filling in the "Add Asset Catalog"

  • Catalog Alias: A unique alias for this asset catalog (required).

  • Tags: To group the asset catalogs (optional)

  • Git Provider: A list of all Git providers for which you have an access token (required)

  • Repository Group: All repository groups in the specified Git provider for which you have at least read rights, where repository group is the git group that logically contain the repositories inside it (required)

  • Repository Key: It is the name of the catalog that will end up in git repository (required)

  • Description: Some notes on the purpose of this asset catalog (optional)

    Tip:

    If the specified repository key doesn't exist, check the "Create new asset catalog if not exists" checkbox in order to create a new repository key.

    Tip:

    We recommend to structure your asset catalogs consciously and avoid to have more than 50 different assets in one asset catalog.

Editing an asset catalog

To edit an asset catalog, please follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the admin settings page by clicking the gear icon in the navigation bar ⚙

  • Click "Admin Settings".

  • Navigate to the "Asset Catalogs" tab.

  • Use the search box to search for the asset catalog to be edited, you can search either by:

    • Catalog alias
    • Tags
    • Git provider
    • Repository group
    • Repository key
  • Once you locate the catalog, press the three dots on the right and click the (- Edit) button.

  • Tags: To group the asset catalogs (optional)
  • Description: Some notes on the purpose of this asset catalog (optional)

Deleting an asset catalog

To delete an asset catalog, please follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the admin settings page by clicking the gear icon in the navigation bar ⚙

  • Click "Admin Settings".

  • Navigate to the "Asset Catalogs" tab.

  • Use the search box to search for the asset catalog to be removed, you can search either by:

    • Catalog alias
    • Tags
    • Git provider
    • Repository group
    • Repository key
  • Once you locate the catalog, press the three dots on the right and click the (- Delete) button.

  • Confirm the "Delete Asset Catalog" dialog.
